About The Captain

Meet Capt. Chris Brown

Captain Christopher Brown grew up in the Florida Keys as a fifth generation fisherman. The grandson of a commercial captain, Chris sold bait to tournament boats as an 8-year-old and fished his first tournament at age 12. Nearly three decades later, the former Tarpon Springs harbormaster loves fishing with children and enjoys putting novice and experienced anglers on fish from Homosassa to the Everglades.

An inshore light tackle and fly fishing specialist, Capt. Chris takes charters through the waters of Pinellas down through Boca Grande and into the 10,000 Islands on his way to the Everglades. As the waters warm each spring, Chris gears up for the annual tarpon migration along the coastline, but he also fishes year round for snook, redfish, trout, permit, cobia, and shark. Capt. Chris is a constant competitor in multiple tournaments and often participates in charity events supporting community organizations like the Boy Scouts, Make a Wish Foundation, the Fight Against Autism and Cystic Fibrosis.

Don’t hesitate to ask Chris to support your cause. With college studies in biology and marine science, Chris maintains a strong commitment to the Florida environment and is willing to do whatever necessary to ensure the stability of our ecosystem in the Gulf waters. When Chris is off the water, which is rare, he spends time with his wife Karen and their two children, Kaden and Caleigh along with his beloved dogs, Alexa and Gaia (who is known as #GaiatheCrabDog).  His grown son Luke, and his beautiful wife Skylar, have added a granddaughter to the mix also which has been a special blessing.

Join Capt. Chris for a day on the water and enjoy fishing with someone who absolutely loves what the Florida Gulf Coast has to offer.
